About MapleTree Guitars

MapleTree is Canadian. Designed and engineered in Canada for exceptional tone, clarity and playability. The look, the sound and feel of a MapleTree guitar is a Truly Canadian Experience – by Design.

All MapleTree acoustic guitars are created with solid Canadian maple back and sides with Sitka spruce soundboards from Germany. Ebony fret-boards on a maple neck, sized to deliver an inviting playing area that will appeal to flat-pickers and finger-style guitar players alike. Wilkinson tuners (with ebony buttons), ebony bridge, bone nut, rosette sound hole, maple/ebony/MOP binding, mother of pearl inlay (logo and fret-markers) complete these beautiful instruments.

Our instruments are produced by a family of luthiers with over 100 years of combined knowledge in guitar craftsmanship. Our artisans have developed a long respected heritage and reputation of hand-made excellence in Asia. Hand-carving each guitar with meticulous detail with carefully air-dried solid woods from Canada, Germany and India. The combination of excellent craftsmanship, along with top-grade tone woods, delivers an exceptional sounding instrument with crisp, clear mids and a deep powerful lower range.

MapleTree also manufactures an extensive variety of solid wood jazz and gypsy guitars. All meticulously handcrafted with unique hollow-body designs that deliver tonality that rivals instruments three times the cost.

The construction process of MapleTree guitar today is the same as those produced for the past 100 years. Aside from the band saws used to cut out the necks and the outlines of the tops and backs of our instruments we have virtually no power tools in use. Chisels, knives, gouges, and scrapers in the hands of outstandingly gifted craftspeople are the tools used to create these modern instruments, built by hand using centuries old methods. No robots or CNC assembly lines churning out products for the faceless consumer. Every MapleTree guitar is unique, with it’s own personality. Just like our players.

At MapleTree Guitars, we're players too
